2016 Hong Kong Paralympic Day
Last Sunday, 29 May 2016, Hong Kong Paralympic Committee and Sports Association for the Physically Disabled (HKPC & SAPD) firstly held the 2016 Hong Kong Paralympic Day at Hong Kong Sports Institute. Many disabled athletes, particularly those who were qualified for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games (Games), to be presented in the ceremony to demonstrate the disabled sports to the public.
Sarcastically, I was not invited for this activity though I was the only wheelchair table tennis player qualified for the Games. My friend, Shirley, who expected to meet me at HKSI as I was a Rio Paralympic Games Hong Kong representative, was very disappointed that she could not find me there. Without other way round, she chose a photo that I was present in last London Paralympic Games and took photo with that “me”. It’s funny!
Undoubtedly I had very poor relationship with the Association since the 2007 incident. I was too naïve to think that my relationship with the Association already returned to normal as times passed by and matters faded. In fact, I was always excluded from all these media activities as I was still considered to be a ‘black sheep’ of the Association. Our relationship was irretrievable so far as the ‘crack’ was still there.
