An Enjoyable Korean Tournament
I have gone to Korea for training and tournament for numerous times. I went there again last week from 27 July to 1 Aug for joining the 2013 Korea PTT Open.
The tournament was held at a training centre for disabled in Incheon, Korea. The centre including the accommodation, practice room, competition hall and canteen is all wheelchairs accessible. Apart from being modernly furnished, it was very convenient for all disabled players as all facilities gathered in one complex. We did not need to take transport for competition or meals.
The tournament was extremely smoothly run as both the technical delegate and referee were very experienced in organized table tennis tournament for disabled. It was so nice that a half-day was squeezed for a short tour to Seoul at the last day. The Organizing Committee was dedicated in arranging this tour, particularly for those players who had not visited Korea before. Despite the time was very rush for us to do shopping and barbecue dinner within two hours, I could still buy many cosmetics which was famous for good quality with cheap price.
Needless to say, the cosmetics bought were not as rewarding as the Gold Medal I captured with the Chinese player in Women’s Class 5 Team event. Of course, I had to thank to DING, who was coaching me hardly during the tournament.
