500 Days Countdown to London 2012

On 15 March 2011, being a paralympic gold medalist, I was so honored to be invited to participate the party held at the British Embassy to celebrate the 500 Days Countdown to the start of the London 2012.

As reported, the launch of the Countdown is a key moment in the build up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.   It is a reminder for people from across the United Kingdom as well as visitors to the capital that London will soon be hosting the greatest show on earth.

Athletes’ careers are based on timing.  The Countdown is surely a milestone moment excites and inspires us to compete at the highest level in 2012.  Athletes hoping to compete in the Games are in the final stretch of our preparation and the next 500 days will be crucial to us as our dream of competing in the Games comes closer to reality.

For me, to be qualified for the London 2012, also started to strive for points in the coming table tennis tournaments while the first one, i.e. Lignano Master Open 2011, already held on 22 March 2011.
