My dream to 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games vanished!!!
Today I received a very disappointing news from the disabled association attributing to my sleepless night.
Dear Pui Yi,
Our Technical Sub-Committee & some of our Office Bearers
Had a meeting last Saturday. One of the agenda was to consider your case. With reference to your Point No. 1, it is true that the slots allocation for your class has been increased from 11 to 16. These 16 players should be include top 10 World Ranking players, the 4 Champions of the Regional Championships and 2 Bipartite Commission Invitation by IPC. If there is any overlap between the first two categories, players ranked over (say, at least up to 13-14) may also be qualified to the 08 Paralympic Games.
Based on the most up-dated ranking, you are now in rank 25th with 90 points (please refer to attached info). As the existing rank 14 player has 1800 points in 3 tournaments. It is not justified for the Association to support your case.
However, the Committee agreed to send you to participate in the Asian & Ocean Championships which will be held in November in Korea. It is an important chance for you to qualify into the PG.
If you really feel that you have a chance to get a higher ranking, the Committee will not object to your participation in other overseas tournaments at your own expenses. Your case will be reviewed depending on the total points obtained in such tournaments.
