My First Medal in 2010
After taking a break since last tournament in Brazil in December 2009, I rejoined tournament in May 2010 to try what I had learnt in the past four months. With the thoughts of testing my skills grasped, I chose Slovenian Open. It’s because it was a high standard tournament with very good organization. Being a 40 -factor tournament, undoubtedly many strong players would join it and it’s really true.
This time I found that many female players changed their rubber to long pimples or short pimples in forehand or left hand, which made the game more changeable and I needed to adjust with every player’s rubber and her playing style. So I still felt very grateful to be in quarter final in the Open Event though I finally lost with the Swedish girl who got the gold medal at last. It’s not easy to enter the quarter-final as there’s totally 44 girls in the Open Event. In the past, I always lost in the first round in open event.
Fortunately I lastly captured a bronze medal in the class event where I beat the Mexican girl whom I had lost in the Beijing Paralympics in 2008. So my progress in table tennis skills could be seen in the tournament, but improvement was still needed if I wanted to capture a gold medal.
