My Korean Team Partner

Since I go alone to tournament in Argentina, I need to identify a partner to play in team event.

As checked, there’s one Class 4 Korean female player, JUNG, for my choice. It’s quite a usual practice that players like to team up with players of the same region, for covenience of communication. However, I could not have much dialogue with JUNG because I did not known Korean language. We just communicated by gesture and very simple English. Fortunately we could work together to capture my first gold medal in 2007.

After this tournament, JUNG became my friend. I learnt that she started practising table tennis for 3 years but at least 4 hours a day. She was a full time housewife and so got much time in playing table tennis after her children grew up.

For better communication with JUNG, I was very impulsive to learn Korean language to share my affairs with her.
